Greased Lighting 200 Fast Facts

  • Motor Mile Speedway (MMS) has hosted eleven HPCS Sears Auto Center Northern Division events over the last nine years with six different drivers going to victory lane. Bobby Gill (2000, 2001, 2002) and Benny Gordon (2004, 2005, 2006) each have three HPCS wins at MMS.
  • Current point leader Gary St. Amant nabbed his first win of the season at Salem Speedway and stretched his point led to 105 over second place Benny Gordon. St. Amant only has one top-10 finish to his credit at MMS in five events.
  • There have been nine different drivers in victory lane over the first 10 events this season. Mark McFarland of the Aaron's Southern Division is the only driver with two wins this season.
  • Bobby Gill is the only driver who has won at MMS when starting outside the top five.
  • Matt Carter picked up his second career BFGoodrich Tires pole award with a new track record at Salem Speedway. Carter drove to a career-best, second-place finish and improved to fourth in the point standings just eight points behind Jody Lavender in third place. Carter has an average finish of 5.5 at MMS.
  • The past two HPCS events held at MMS have been won by the pole sitter. Benny Gordon won from the pole in July 2006 and Shane Huffman did it in November 2005.
  • Johnny Rumley and Jeff Agnew have each won track championships in Late Model competition at MMS. The last time either Agnew or Rumley led a HPCS event at MMS was in 2004.
  • Shane Wallace drove to a season-best, third-place finish at Salem Speedway. Wallace moved up inside the top 10 in points, just 38 outside of fifth place.
  • Sears Auto Center Northern Division Miller Lite "ROTY" contender Ben Stancill had a career best finish of fourth at Salem Speedway. Stancill moved to within 17 points of current rookie point leader Brandon Ward.
  • Sam Fullone had a season-best finish of sixth and moved to within 28 points of fifth place (Brandon Ward). Fullone's best finish at MMS was ninth place in November 2005.
  • 2006 Miller Lite "Rookie of the Year" Derek Kale sits 11 points behind 10th-place Jack Bailey. Kale looks to improve on his 13th-place finish in his only start at MMS.
  • Only four active drivers have completed every lap they have raced at MMS. They are: Clay Rogers, Benny Gordon, Matt Carter and Mark McFarland.
