Farmer's Foods 250 Fast Facts

  • Last season's event was slowed only three times, forcing some teams to make green flag pit stops. Shelby Howard and Sam Fullone both stayed out and benefited from a caution making them the only two cars on the lead lap. Howard went on to win the Miller Lite 250.
  • There have been two Northern Division events with two Southern Division winners. Bobby Gill stole the Northern opener at South Boston Speedway and Mark McFarland took the second event at Shenandoah Speedway. The Sears Auto Center 200 will produce the first Northern Division winner.
  • Bullet Racing hired Jack Bailey to pilot the No. 11 just one week before the Farmer's Foods 250 at Shenandoah Speedway. Bailey led 64 laps and brought the No. 11 home in second place.
  • Gary St Amant finds himself tied for the points lead after two Northern Division events. St Amant has finished in the top five in both events this season.
  • Sam Fullone used pit strategy and a strong racecar to lead the most laps at Shenandoah (111). Fullone and his team find themselves in fifth place after two events, just 50 points away from the point lead.
  • Jody Lavender has been an Aaron's Southern Division competitor until his move this season to the Sears Auto Center Northern Division. Although Lavender has never raced on most of the Northern tracks, he posted an eighth- and fourth-place finish in the first two events and is a mere 23 points from the point lead.
  • After two races, former Northern Division Champion Benny Gordon finds himself in an unfamiliar place. Gordon sits 22nd in the point standings and has finished outside the top 20 in both events of the season.
  • After having his career best finish (3rd) in HPCS competition at South Boston Speedway, Matt Carter looked to be on his way to another top five finish before an accident sidelined him in the Farmer's Foods 250 at Shenandoah Speedway. Carter dropped from second to sixth in the point standings, still only 57 points from point co-leaders Clay Rogers and Gary St. Amant.
  • 2006 "Miller Lite Rookie of the Year" Derek Kale is still searching for his first top 10 of the season. Kale led 126 laps at South Boston Speedway, but he was forced to pit late. At Shenandoah Speedway, Kale cut right rear tire and was forced to pit, dropping him to a finish just outside the top 10.
