- South Boston Speedway (SBS) will play host to the Sears Auto Center Northern Division opener for the USAR/HPCS Series for the fourth year.
- The BFGoodrich Tires pole winner has gone on to win the race at SBS five out of 12 times. Woody Howard was the last driver do it, winning race and pole in 2005.
- Only two drivers have multiple wins at SBS, Mario Gosselin in (1997, 2001) and Benny Gordon (2004, 2005). Gordon is the defending Sears Auto Center Northern Division Champion.
- In last season's opening event, Aaron's Southern Division competitor Clay Rogers crossed over from his division to take home the win. This season Rogers current HPCS National Champion has moved to the Sears Auto Center Northern Division with DMT Motorsports in the car No. 29.
- Six former Southern Division drivers will join Rogers in making the move to the Sears Auto Center Northern Division.
- Defending Miller Lite "Rookie of the Year" Derek Kale will be making his sophomore season start in the HPCS at SBS. Kale finished last season with four top-10 finishes and two pole awards to his credit.
- Shane Wallace, one of the six drivers moving from the Southern Division to the Northern Division this season, has 63 starts with 12 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes and five poles in his career.
- Drivers like Jeff Agnew, Gary St Amant, Johnny Rumley Jack Bailey, and AJ Frank will be looking to dethrone three-time Northern Division Champion Benny Gordon when the HPCS rolls into South Boston Speedway on April 14.
- Former 2004 Miller Lite "Rookie of the Year" Matt Carter will be making his Sears Auto Center Northern Division debut at SBS. Carter will be moving from the Southern division where he has competed for three years, recording 57 starts, eight top-five and 31 top-10 finishes and one pole.
- In 1998, Jeff Agnew set a record by winning the Championship and the "Rookie of the Year." No other rookie has been able to accomplish in the last 10 years. Since that time, Agnew has 169 starts,13 wins, 68 top-five's, 115 top-10's and 11 poles to his credit.
